The City of Beaverton is seeking a Transportation Project Manager who will play a key role in shaping the future of our downtown. This is a new role in the Community Development Department that will help advance the City Council’s priority of Safe Streets and implement the City’s Complete Streets Policy.
 
As the Transportation Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing the Beaverton Downtown Loop and the Downtown Quiet Zone, two projects that have significant budgets with multiple phases over several years. Project funding includes a $2.5 million federal RAISE Grant and $5 million federal appropriations funding, as well as Beaverton Urban Redevelopment Agency (BURA) and Transportation Development Tax (TDT) funds. Additional grants are anticipated in future years with significant project budgets for design and construction.

The ideal candidate

  • Is passionate about the role of transportation in shaping communities and helping people safely, easily, and comfortably connect to the places, services, education, and jobs that are essential to leading stable, dignified, and fulfilled lives.
  • Has experience delivering complex capital projects on time and within budget, including project management of engineering tasks and deliverables. 
  • Puts a high value on community engagement when designing decision-making processes and has demonstrated success connecting with diverse communities, cultures, and audiences. 
  • Has experience with roadway project design on public infrastructure projects and in leading multi-disciplinary design teams. Experience with streetscape and complete streets planning and implementation is a plus.   
  • Is skilled at developing clear, concise, and compelling reports, presentations, and project communications. 
  • Has delivered federal aid transportation projects in a local agency context.
