Design Engineer - Active Transportation

This is an opportunity to support a variety of interesting and complex active transportation projects for our growing list of transportation, municipal, and private clients throughout the Midwest and beyond.  We are looking to add a Design Engineer who will help foster our mission that All People Should Live in Safe, Sustainable and Beautiful Communities!

As a design engineer with Bolton & Menk, you will be supporting a team of engineers providing technical analysis, drainage design, plan development, and modeling to take your projects from preliminary design through construction. 

What You Will Be Doing:

• Assist Project Engineers with design and construction phase activities on transportation projects
• Perform basic design computations, preliminary layout and design, research and prepare rough drafts of preliminary reports and feasibility studies
• Assist with project plans and specifications, preparing cost and quantity take-off estimates
• Assist with design of a variety of active transportation projects. Work may be applied to existing infrastructure of part of larger transportation improvement plans and specifications

What We Are Looking For:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on water resources or bio-systems engineering, or equivalent program from an accredited college
• Certified Engineer-in-Training or able to obtain within 12 months of hire
• Working knowledge and skills in CAD and design software.(i.e. AutoCAD Civil3D, MicroStation)
• Possess a valid drivers license as travel to various facilities and job sites may be required

Salary Range: $58,000 - $90,000 depending on years of experience and credentials
