WABA’s Advocacy Team focuses on building relationships with community members and decision-makers, hosting and coordinating campaigns, and advancing projects and policies. The Prince George’s County Organizer will be part of WABA’s supportive and collaborative Advocacy Team and reports to the Maryland Organizer. The WABA Advocacy team includes: the Advocacy Director, three regional Organizers, and a Coalitions Coordinator.
The Organizer will work with community members and organizations across the county to build support for improved legislation, transportation plans, and an expanded network of bikeable, walkable roads and trails in Prince George’s County.
This position is part of the Transport Workers Union Local 320 and is classified as a level two role.
In this role, you’ll take the lead on:
(30%) Community Education & Outreach
(20%) Relationship & Coalition Building
(20%) Legislative & Plan Coordination
(15%) Supporter Cultivation
(10%) Campaign Communications
(5%) Organizational Support
